Proofreading is the final editorial stage. It includes checks for spelling, grammar, syntax, and punctuation. It generally does not address content or word choice (except in cases of inconsistent tense or subject/verb agreement).
Copyediting is a more intensive review of the mechanics of the material. I analyze the document for overall clarity and construction, ensure consistency of style, tense, and format, and suggest alternate phrasing.
Content development is just that! Drawing from your expertise, I craft language for your copy based on your mission, audience, forum, and goals. Content development is a collaborative process driven by great communication and our mutual dedication to the success of your piece.
I offer competitive rates and quick turn-around. Please contact me for a quote.
How to submit your work for editing
My preferred form of submission is Microsoft Word. I use Track Changes, which allows the client to review and accept or reject the changes. This feature is found on the Tools menu in Word. I can also work directly in online publication platforms such as WordPress, Moveable Type, Constant Contact, and Campaign Monitor. You may also fax or mail a hard copy of the material.
“Molly’s remarkable dexterity with the English language gives my writing a polished glow. She truly connects with my thought process, holds my 'voice,' and translates my very right-brained way of communicating into clear language that speaks to my audience. Molly helps me convey complex, abstract ideas in a way that is accessible to my readers and clients." - Candice Covington, Divine Archetypes
